AIA Presentation

Friday, April 16, 2010

Due to the upcoming events, I have decided to post some examples of the talent, currently with us. These are random examples, pulled from the database, that have mySQL framework and are very flexible.

We are very excited about this, a big thanks to Ivan and Diana.

Some Architecture first: Clicking on the pictures will take you to our main site.

What is Modus Ingenium

Welcome!
Modus Ingenium is serving the artistic talent around the globe and all related industries, that employ talent. The new dynamics of these industries make them sophisticated, demanding, and dependent on what ultimately propels them forward - talent.

Modus Ingenium in Latin means “Measuring Talent”. Our team of professionals has one goal - to enable opportunities for talented individuals through an objective process of grading talents’ work and providing a searchable database for recruiters and employers. The current methodologies and practices of finding suitable individuals for positions are often antiquated, even if applied within current information technology.

Our team members are professionals from various fields with very long and successful careers. The team have developed a selection and search process which simplifies recruiting, headhunting and hiring of new talent as well as established professionals.

The industries’ requirements have become much more fragmented in the last 10 years. As a result, the industries’ talent fields/disciplines have become much better defined. What Modus Ingenium is primarily focused on doing, is to change not only the way the talent is approached, but also the way the talent is measured in a useful industry related way, without alienating the talent by focusing on academic merit. The academic merit is not a strong measure for the potential talent in a production environment and so it is not considered in the artistic grading process.

Modus Ingenium rates and grades the talents, based only on their uploaded material, using best practices and good sense, employing the Modus Ingenium team members’ long, successful and diversified experience in all related fields.

Each talent is given an account, which is precisely defined for the specific field/discipline he or she belongs to. For a comprehensive list, refer to the “Disciplines”. Next, the talent will fill-in the information required, and provide work samples and reels, where applicable. There is nothing new or revolutionary about this step. But what Modus Ingenium specializes in, is rating the talent on two scales, each one from 0 to 20 points. The first being the Creative Merit (a), and the second is the Technical Merit (b), both of which are vitally important to accurately represent the current skill level of each talent.

Our database continually tracks this information. This database is freely searchable by any potential recruiter using specific search criteria. The rating procedure is also applied in such manner that each discipline is measured starting with a minimum total score (a+b), which is considered an entry level for that discipline and could be different for various disciplines - as listed. This effectively inhibits any entry that is lower than the established minimum score, and will not be accessible during a search by a recruiter. So every search the recruiter makes will produce an actual potential applicant for the position he or she is trying to fill.

The full details of the search are protected and the recruiter/hirer will have to become a member to access the full information. Once a member, he/she will be able to see the talent’s uploaded works, location, employment status and many other very useful details in addition to our score.

In order to protect the talent from “spam” and other unwanted “poking”, the contact information is protected by filtering the contact through our internal system. After finding a desirable candidate, the recruiter will then send a message to the talent through the automated system at Modus Ingenium. The recruiter will be notified by Modus Ingenium that his/her e-mail has been received by the contacted talent. The talent would then decide whether to pursue or not to pursue further communication with the recruiter. This protects the privacy of the talent.

Excellent communication is of an essence. Whether a talent would like to accept or decline an offer, our recommendation is always to answer to an employer’s inquiry, thus keeping the already established line of communication open for future correspondence.

Other mechanisms to keep this mutual value for both talent and hirer, is to avoid contact information on submitted works. Modus Ingenium automatically adds the artist’s copyright and initials on the submitted work upon upload according to their account information, for example: ” #263 Copyright T.G. 2009”. This way, the artist can only be contacted using the correct lines of communication by the employers, and keeps the presentation clean and consistant.

Modus Ingenium has developed processes to hinder plagiarism and “posers” through randomly pulling images and reels from the talent pool and checking them. We do have a "no tolerance" policy for these types of actions, and any talent that “poses” or passes someone else’s work as his/her work, will be deleted from the database. This does not include collaborative works, where more than one artist have worked on the same project and contributed to it.

We will track any complaints within the boundary of sound reasoning and use implemented procedures to check the validity of such claims.

The team also provides re-grading of artists, if desired by them, when the artist have further grown his/her skill set. There is also a room for re-grading, if for some reason the artist feels that the score is not fair in relation to a similar artist. However, the re-grading does not necessarily equate a higher score, if the Modus Ingenium team feels that the original grading score is appropriate.

Modus Ingenium listens closely to industry feedback and will apply new disciplines, add data fields on existing ones, or include other services to provide a more valuable and ultimately a more useful service for all our clients.

We are a world wide provider and have employed ways to cater to various markets around the world. Each recruiter will, for example, have the option to limit the search for talent to the geographic location of his/her choice.
